Getting ready to finally install the 465 and searched but didnt find any pictures. Going to use pto covers to mount it but does it need a cradle to clear the front drive shaft or can stright out to frame[with bushings of course] Thanks

I made up some "cradles" but have not had time to bend up the tube for the crossmember. They are cnc plasma cut and fit well. I made some extras if you want one PM me.

mopdog sawyour thread earlier those look sharp wish I had known you made a few i already made new covers. How is your mount going to work cross member under the cradle to the frame? just having trouble visualizing it. Need to have everything ready because im installing at buddies shop or I would just spend the time mocking it up

I wish I had some cad skills, here is a VERY crude sketch. Bushings on the frame and the cradle with some heavy wall tube between. The tube will probably tie into the frame bushing more from the bottom than from the side like the sketch shows, as there are parts of the transfer case that you will have to miss with the crossmember.

Tree root used the 2 f and mounted the transfer case with a custom mount. Yes I have searched for hours but there are hundreds of these installed someone could post a picture

Mopdog I just mocked mine up and only had 2 1/4 inches between my skid plate and bottom of tranny so a cross member is out for me just going almost straight down to bushings. Will try and get some pictures up but it of town now for awhile. Please post a picture of your mount when you get your tranny in thanks

No pictures handy, but I used the propeller. I've also seen arms that come up to the bellhousing to add support. Some bells had the lower mount tabs that were nice. I'm wiping cobwebs away, but I'm sure that bellhousing fit the SM465.

There is very little clearance. I had to raise the body 1" and lower the skid plate a little to fit. Bend the shifter, cut the tunnel cover, replace the heater, yada yada yada.

If I was to do it again, I'd save the money for the 5 speed. It's only another $3G's.....

I got an 1 inch body lift also. no ears on my bell housing or I would have went that route. More work than I was expecting but isn't it always. mock up always takes the air out of my sails

I made some covers with just tabs also. I dont think clearance will be an issue with the cradle though. One of the reasons I made it was to be able to have somehing low profile yet strong enough to go under the skid plate. The sketch in post 4 is decieving. The bottom of the cradle sits 1.5" below the transmission. The cradle itself, with a smaller diameter tube or solid stock will act as the center of the crossmember.
