Hi All,

Can someone take a picture of the front of their oil pan while laying on their back? I’m really trying to see what’s above the oil pan (the area circled in red). I was replacing the oil pan and noticed the some bolt heads and also noticed some holes where it looks like bolts should be in that red area. I couldn’t get my camera up there to get a clear pic to see if the holes are threaded, but it looks like they are from the crappy photo I got. I tried bolts of different lengths in there and there was no tension, but I didn’t try bolts of varying widths. I’m hoping to see if other people have bolt heads where I’m suspecting I am missing some. I took the Fj60 on a drive after having done lots of work. I noticed a streak of oil in the driveway (but I didn’t notice any leaks while idled) so I’m trying to track it down.

I can. Not a 60 but a 2F...
You're talking about the lower end of the timing cover?
Not sure that mine are correct but here you go

This is exactly what I needed. Thank you. Do you know the size of these bolts by chance or where I can find the size? I’m hearing this noise that sounds like popcorn popping from this area and I think oil is dripping out of here.

I do not recall the bolt sizes. I do recall at least one thread on timing cover bolts. Search that.
Popcorn popping is not usually the sound that is associated with that area of an operating 2F engine, more often it is described as a "Sewing Machine" type sound. Oil drips out of mine too, and a lot of others. Is it a lot and do you feel like fixing it?

I just watched a video I took and I just noticed a belt that looks like it needs to be tightened. I think that might be causing the popping or slapping noise. I am going to fix the timing cover leak issue because there was a very noticeable drip (actually a streak) when I was on a decline on the driveway pulling into the garage. I read some threads on it last night and it doesn’t sound like a fun job 👎
