Pics of new door trims

Made up some new door trims for my hj61 last week,wanted to keep them simple,cheap and easy to clean.
I used 3mil masonite,4mtr thin foam,4mtrs black vinyl plus some glue,traced the old ones and dumped the steel bit at the top to keep it simple as i wanted,i wanted to use plastic scrivets in the original holes but couldn't get any long enough,i don't like those original clips,wanted a sturdier fix on the panels so i just ended up putting tech screws into the door frame,later on when im finished mucking around with car,respray etc,i'll just touch up the screws with some black paint,but they;ll be off and on a few times until then.

That looks wonderful. Could you post a photo of the fastener? I bet you could do the same thing with leather too.

Screw Heads

Nice, clean, straight forward solution. One suggestion on the screw heads, custom auto-upholsters use a button top screw and typically stock some back button tops. The screw is in the base of the button and the button simply presses on the screw with the base ring around the screw.

If I am not descriptive enough, I can probably shoot you a photo.

I have worked with several ambulance builders through the years and they had great sources, since they bought them by the 1000's. That said, I've seen them used in motorhomes, and general auto-upholsters, so I am sure there are sources out there far more in depth that I have discussed.

yeay i might check out what your talking about cruiseunc,i know the ones your describing
heres a pic of screws heartworm,screw on the left is just a flat head self drilling metal screw,on the right is a plastic scrivet i wanted to use in the original holes but they ended up too short,i couldn't find any in oz about 5mil longer,not in 8mil,i still have the option of using 6mil scrivets in the new screw holes as i can get them about 20mil long.
