Just wondering cause now that i'm getting close to finishing the sliders i'm starting to think about rear bumpers. When i look at the FAQ thread showing all the different bumpers, only Junk's truck pics appear. None of the others. What's up with dat?

how old are the threads? Photos from the OLD forum software didn't transfer over....I've manually done a few threads, but covering 100,000 pics just wasn't gonna happen.

PM me the specific thread and I can do it....but it'll be next week before I have a chance....

Thanks woody. It's just the thread on rear bumpers in the FAQ sticky. Take your time.

Woody, try the SEARCH button :flipoff2: :D

Yeah, that thread had a lot of great pics in it. The ones that didn't carry over were attachments. Mine stayed active since they were linked. Hmm, that reminds me I gotta put a link in there to Bjowett's thread on his rear bumper.

also if the pics were linked from someplace else(like I do) they might not be there.

dang. I need some rear bumper inspiration......those sliders have got me all worked up and now i'm ready to move to the next project. Well, no biggy.

How does a bonehead like me load pics in the Cruisergarage? Mike, I'll load some pics for you if I can figure this thing out. Otherwise, go to my My pics on yahoo and click on Fabrication folder.

Ali, that's very well done. That's almost exactly what i was thinking of. Well, looks like i'll be going back to the steel store! Yahoo.

Thanks Mike. That bumper started out as a 3/16" 4'x8' sheet. I'll never get those 100+ hours of my life back!

It looked like a LOT of metal work! Even though the sliders weren't that bad, the feeling of accomplishment is awesome. It'll probably take me 3 months to build that thing, but i'm going to give it a wirl.

By the way, it's Alex. :D

Thanks dudes. Sorry Alex, dunno where Mike came from! ;)

No metal brake, just lots of cutting, welding and s*** load of grinding! I'm a huge fan of paper grinding pads vs stone discs after this project. Paper is more subtle and way more sexy, dont' ya know

The end caps, ah yes, that's another story. They were bump bent using a 100 Ton brake at a full blown fab shop. I gave the guy both of my plastic side things and a half a sheet of 3/16" plate. He then matched the radius as closesly as possible. Took him only 40 mins to do it. Then the pieces and I became initmate with a 10 lbs sledgehammer, 5 lb hammer on a 100 lb anvil on my garage floor. My wife had to leave the house for a day on the account of the loud cussing and metal beating eminating from the garage!

I agree with Alex, the feeling of accomplishment and having an unique design is awesome. Now, if I can just have the motivation to take everything off and have them powdercoated this winter! And then there's that York compressor thing....the list continues!
