Just scored a Silver 2007 GX470 with 41k miles in Tulsa, OK. I drove down to Lexus of Tulsa from Iowa after a 12" snow in my 1995 Land Cruiser. I will miss my old tank, but after a couple of weeks with my new to me GX, I really dig it. Love the nice ride and V8 power. It really will fit my needs nicely. I plan to keep it for a long time making minor mods as necessary. Going to start as a tow rig for my pop-up camper with light trail use and canoe hauling. I have four young kids so it fits them OK. We take a long road trip every summer. Last year we drove to the Redwoods and back to Iowa hitting eight national parks/monuments along the way. We did the trip with my wife's 2012 Honda Pilot. I wanted something with more power, and trail worthy after rolling through Dinosaur National Monument. Will also haul a couple canoes up to Boundary Waters once or twice a year.

The GX is in mint condition. Like owning a brand new one. Full service history including every oil change and other service at Lexus of Tulsa. It has no Nav which was ideal for me. Also no KDSS which I could go either way. I plan to upgrade suspension at some point. Probably down the road after any air suspension issues pop up. Tan interior which I like even if it gets dirty easy. The dealer installed new OEM Bridgestone tires and serviced the vehicle including the water pump and timing belt. They said they noticed some seeping around the water pump so did the full service. Awesome! I would like some bigger tires but will wear down the OEM tires first. No rust at all underneath. Doing the best I can to keep rust on hold. I take it through a car wash almost every day. $32.99 for a month of unlimited washes is worth it to me. Anyway, here are a coupled pictures from today.

Very nice! I too moved from an 80 to the GX about 10 months ago and have been extremely happy with it - and also a 2007, but it had 78k w/ every service at the dealer + NAV. Nice to see more and more folks picking them up with the intent to use them!

I did the same thing last month - '97 LX450 to an '07 GX470 w/Sport package. I love it.

Congrats on your new rig...

I am 3 weeks into ownership of an '05 (no Nav, no KDSS)...already lifted / wheels / tires / etc...build thread to follow.

Looks like the word is out on GX's...or they've just become affordable enough for guys like us to use 'em off road!

Does seem to be a common theme. I wanted to go with a 100 but the prices were sky high on anything with these kinds of low miles and condition. I figure same drivetrain is a good thing and I can strap same extra stuff to a roof rack or something if I need more space. Pulling the pop-up for road trips it soaks up most of our gear anyway. Will be curious to see if more aftermarket stuff will become more common as more GXs get to do some real work.

I love my GX, and I still bought back my 80...but it is not a normal 80 so it doesnt count!

Your 80 is not normal, but it is awesome! That looks like a fun ride.

What are you looking for? I'm about to get a GX and have been researching the aftermarket. Dan's (Kunz) been great about documenting his build and much of the mechanical hardware for a 4th Gen 4Runner is a direct crossover (suspension, skids, sliders). I was chatting with Kurt at Cruiser Outfitters and he said that ARB USA stocks Prado parts here in the U.S. The Seattle-area warehouse is the distribution point for South America and Prados are popular there...ARB typically has snorkels and bullbars in-stock and ready to ship.

Be aware. Suspension will work from a Prado. So will a snorkel. a bumper WILL NOT without a lot of cutting.

I have an Iron Man for a prado and I had to cut a lot of sheet metal.

Suspension from 07-09 FJ Cruiser and 03-09 4runner will work as well.

I love your 07 Silver GX470 too :) Being some of the first is a rare treat, and I think we pulled it off nicely!

indeed!

Dan and Seth, your trucks definately helped me decide on my next platform. Mine will remain closer to stock for now but as needs arise, certainly appreciate you helping blaze the path. No mods in the immediate future, but someday...

I may be jumping into these waters..... it's this or a LX 470.....

Really liking the smaller frame but nicer interior and a bit of extra room over the 4runner.... I had an 05 and 07 of those... nice, capable but not much soul....
