Trying to find a wire to tap into. Was going to use the side markers but the white and black wire didn't work. There is a green yellow wire could this work? I was going to use parking lights but can't get to the wire to tap in easy enough.
looks like maybe there is a fuse out. The side markers were all burnt up and crumbled and it looks like the orange front lights arent working. Headlights work though. Any idea which fuse it might be?
If you're trying to wire driving lights into an existing circuit, you're doing it wrong. Look up wiring diagrams on Susquehanna Lighting, and you'll see how to properly use that relay.
I belive you can download the instructions from the mfg site. And if you are talking about wiring the driving lights so that will not turn on unless others lights are enabled or disabled...I would not do that. I would want teh driving lights or fog light to power up when the switch is enabled, regardless of other events.
That's a great way to wire aux lights, and it's how I've done mine. That way you only have to remember to turn off the main lights, and all lights are off.
Both the front side-marker and the front parking light run on the same circut, same fuse. The side-marker does get rotten after a lot of years, suggest you buy a new pair and hook em up...it's an easy fix.
The front parking light is actually easier to get to though for aux lights, and the wires for that should be fine.

Thanks Doug for the helpful feedback. I ended up getting them wired up to the side-marker. I had tapped into the wrong one I guess. I used the green/yellow wire and it sent power.
Also, the relay is actually setup to the battery. The positive wire just lets the setup know when to turn on.
Now the lights are setup to only work when the lights are on.
I didn't want my aux lights on every time the headlights were, so I tapped into the power mirror hot wire. It's a switched circuit getting power only when the ignition is turned to the on position, so no problem if you forget to turn off the lights.

The relay is what makes a good aux harness work well...you get a straight shot from battery to the lights (through the relay) and this minimises voltage drop and also prevents too many amps going through the switch. Glad you got it fixed!
