Hey guys!
I am looking for a reliable, quality Arizona shop for my 2001 cruiser. I live in Scottsdale AZ, but would drive anywhere in the metro area for good service. The cruiser is starting to groan and fuss a little and she needs a good doctor. I have a OME lift and diff drop and go off road a few times a year. When the kids get older I'd like to add more armor. Any recommendations on a garage?
Thanks! IMG_2346.webp

There is a shop in Mesa called MotorTek that comes highly recommended on the Lexus boards. I had them do a couple PPIs for me before picking up my 100. They were great to work with.

If you don't mind driving a little further to save a couple more bucks, there is a shop called ToyAuto in Apache Junction that I've heard good things about. I actually used their neighbor LexTech and he was awesome. Probably saved me 70% over the dealer for a few fixed and fluid swaps.

If you need a dealer, ask for Eric Murphy at Camelback Toyota. He is the service manager there and a big Cruiser (80) fan. I haven't used them but that is where most of the Copper State Cruiser guys go for dealer work. He has accounts with Slee among others for aftermarket stuff as well.

The guys over on the 60 Tech Forum have compiled a great list of Cruiser mechanics listed by state: https://forum.ih8mud.com/60-series-wagons/349535-cruiser-mechanics-listed-state.html. Admittedly, a 60 mechanic does not a 100 mechanic make, but that would be the first place I started. John Shotts (ShottsUZJ100) is the Arizona Land Cruiser Association Vice President—he is in Tuscon but would no doubt be a great resource as well. Heck, if I were still living in Scottsdale, I'd drive as far as Tuscon to get work done.

Thanks, I'll be sure to follow up on each of these rec's. When it comes to my truck I really don't mind driving to Tucson. We go there a lot anyways.

Another plug for Murf at Camelback Toyota. I have had both my '06 and '99 in to see Murfs team at Camelback and have nothing but praise for his team, like many other in Copper States Cruisers Club. Camelback Toyota has provide everything from used vehicle inspections to complete builds for CSC members in the past.

I wish we had such a dealer here in the Baltimore/Washington, D.C. area.

It helps when the service manager has a lifted, custom built, supercharged 80 on steroids, and an active member of AZ largest Toyota club.
