For sale: Yukon Grizzly Mechanical Locker for a 9.5" Toyota Diff. Lightly used from my 80 series, maybe 15k miles on it. Never wheeled hard. It worked great prior to me pulling it. Selling because I got a Harrop E Locker installed by Zuk instead. Included are the Timken carrier bearings and races, they are used but appear to be in good shape.

Low Range Offroad is selling the locker for $715, without bearings.

Looking to get $500, shipped. Located in Phoenix, AZ.

I apologize for the dumb question, but I can't see my answer on Yukon's site. Is this a mechanical, cable activated locker? If no, how is it activated?

21:36 talks about Detroit lockers.

The Yukon Grizzly is an automatic mechanical locker. That means it has a mechanism inside that senses when the tires start spinning/losing traction and lock-up the differential. It's similar to a Detroit Locker. When maneuvering turns however, the mechanism unlocks and allows the wheels to rotate at different speeds so you're not trashing your tires and drive-train going around a corner. There is no air or electric cables running to the locker, you cannot "select" when it is locked. It does it automatically.

My personal experience with it was great, I couldn't even tell when the locker engaged, I just drove right up hills, trails, rocks, no problem. When I switched to the selectable Harrop E-Locker, I was amazed how trails that were super easy for me before I now had to stop and engage the locker to make it up. That just shows how often the Yukon Grizzly was working behind the scenes and I didn't even realize it. When you are going slow around a corner though, you do notice a "popping" sound which is totally normal, that is the locker disengaging to allow the turn.

Hopefully this answers your question.
