Peter's Mill/Taskers Gap Trail Workday - Saturday March 19,2022

The trail blazes really need to be refreshed. Wade says there is a sign down on the main road near the Taskers Gap parking lot but I didn't see it when I took a cruise past looking for it.

Regarding the blazes:

- Any specific brand, type or color/s of paint?

- Are they just painted on the trees or are they attached as separate pieces?

- Are they already in place and just need a once over? In other words, do we need to know what symbols go where?

- Any other useful info on painting them?

They usually use marking paint like used on a parking lot or the ground. Can’t remember the colors they use. They are on the trees just need touched up.

Yellow blazes for Peter's Mill Trail. Blazes are just a V-shaped paint mark on select trees. We freshen up the blazes that are already visible but faded. Most are ~6 ft. off the ground.

Try not to spray yourself or your truck. The paint doesn't come off easily. Wear old clothes and don't park too close to where someone is spraying.
And if you spray yourself in the eye, it hurts! And yes, one of our Volunteers managed to give himself a good shot in the eye a few years ago.

I'm not available on saturday, but if anyone else is free, I'd be happy to go on sunday. Not sure if it would be a great idea to go on my own in case any issues arise.

Any takers for this Saturday with WATR guys or Sunday with me?

Looks like I've already got a copy of the letter in my inbox and, as per the instructions in the letter, I'll give them a call tomorrow to let them know if we'll have people going this weekend.

Sunday they might do controlled burning. So I will not go on Sunday and I cannot go on Saturday. Hopefully someone can go with the other group on Saturday. The point of contact did say that we can do the Blazes when the trail is open. So that is a possibility. I got four cans of the yellow paint.
