We would like to permanently disable the PCS system on our LX. If this thing brakes again to avoid an accident in the middle of an intersection, we are going to get t-boned.

So until I can find a version of Techstream that will let me disable permanently, is there a sensor that I can unplug to shut it off? Perhaps the radar sensor in the front grill?

Yes, I have the timing on the PCS system set to late, we still hate it.

If you unplug the radar sensor in the front grill, that will probably disable the system. Of course you'll get a bunch of warning prompts on the dash.

Unplugging the sensor was easy, as pushing the hood latch to the side allowed access to the sensor. Two warnings came up and could not be cleared out.

Wife has an appointment at the dealer tomorrow where they will tell us it is operating as designed and cannot be turned off.

So the local dealer said no, and they called in a regional service rep. This person said no, but wanted me to escalate it to Lexus corporate and get a case number. So I called spoke to the initial person that was pretty sharp, and gave me the case number. Someone internally, and I have the screen shot, wanted to take a test drive with my wife as they were convinced my wife was pressing the brake and the accelerator at the same time. Sure, 5,800 hour pilot with a 94,000 mile manual transmission Carrera, and she his the brake and the accelerator at the same time. Have to wonder if a male owned the vehicle would they make the same BS suggestion.

Second person reviewed the case, and said they would talk to produce development for a work around.

They called back and said, and I am not making this up...

"We cannot disconnect the PCS system because the car is monitored by your insurance company and if we disconnect the system your insurance rates will go up."

What a gargantuan pile of corporate crap.

Not making that up. Woman tried to convince me that is was in my best interest to keep the system as my insurance rates would rise if deactivated. Was a fun conversation.
Are you running that awful Progressive "dongle" or something? How did she know what your insurance policy was?

How do you do it temporarily like when towing a trailer or offroad? So annoying but i ‘get it’.

Did you ever find a fuse or relay to pull to turn it off?

2008 LX570. Constant warnings to celan sensor.

Tried cleaning sensor, front and back and took off grill and cleaned front of actual sensor.

Tried disconnecting sensor. Still get "PCS Not Available Now" message and intermittent bong warning sounds. Not regular interval, but intermittent. Cruise will not work.

Very annoying. Tried recalculating beam axis with cruiser startup routine. Tried paperclip method. Still not able to stop the message and bong sound.

No dongle. She was just making something up as an excuse.
You should respond that if that is the case, then you have a much bigger problem as Lexus is sharing your info without your authorization.
