Penzoil 5W-30 Full Synthetic

Was just at the AutoZone restocking my Mobil1 supply and saw this fully synthetic Penzoil 5-30. Is this a new product? It's 1.00/qt. cheaper than the M1. Just wondered if anyone is using it or thinking of switching? Cheers.

Penzoil dino usually runs 10-15 PSI lower than Castrol dino in a test I did awhile back. Hopefully it's not the same for their synthetics.

do search at Bobistheoilguy.com it is likely a group III oil with is more refined dino oil not true synthetic. if you want a group III oil look at Rotella T Synthetic

Yes they do have a big splash about it, but I don’t see where the say it is polyalphaolefin (group IV)or an ester (group V). It still may be the real deal I don’t know,

Oil manufactures are not the best place to get info about oil. After the Mobil/Castrol arbitration debacle companies are allowed to basically lie and call group 3 oil’s Synthetic.
