I've been looking for a new cooler rated for 7 to 10 days. Of course all the usual brands came up....
Having had great luck with their other products I decided to try out the Pelican 45QT Elite Cooler.
Total cost shipped to my door was $278.53
Here's how it arrived.

Now unboxed

Starting from the bottom. The feet are beefy and have a lot of grip.

The fold away handles are very comfortable.

To open the latches you press the red button and pull them up.

Close up of the latches closed and open.

Cooler lid up.

Minimum thickness of the lid and body is 2 inches all the way around.

The drain plug is located on the left side just below the fold down handle.

To open it up you just turn until it unscrews.

The internal portion of the drain is channeled and angled downward.

There are provisions at all four corners to attach a cable so your investment doesn't just walk away. There is also a beefy setup for a padlock.

And finally for a size comparison, here are two pictures of the cooler sitting in the back of my 1971 FJ40. First one is with both seats folded up, and the second one is pushed off to one side with the driver rear folded down. Amazingly there is still some leg room left.

I really can't wait to take this out for a real field test next month when I have some time off. I will update this thread with the performance review when I get back.
