Which one are you guys ordering? When I go to the site I do not see the 5.7 engine option. Thanks.

Sorry if this is a dumb question but would my 2017 LC purchased in March 2018 already have had the TSB done? Is there a way to find out, would the dealer service know (from their records)?

Register your truck on the Toyota owner site with the VIN, then pull the service history. My TSB shows up on the service history, so I'm guessing yours would too if it had it. You would likely know pretty easily if you needed to get it done, because without it the truck is pretty lurchy and has pretty hard/firm shifts in gears 1-3.

Promo code has expired, I looked on eBay. Same price, be careful to NOT get the non BT (Blue Tooth) model. I searched for PC27 BT Land Cruiser and it came right up. Oklahoma collects sale tax on Amazon purchases, not eBay purchases.
 
Had anyone bought one of these for the 08-15 LC? I have a 14 and am considering it. It’s listed at 329 on the pedal commander website right now.

Same question. Has anyone tried it on the 2008-2015? I have a 2011 and the ECT PWR button has no effect on the throttle response unlike in the 2016+

Odd, there's a definite difference in light/medium throttle response on my 2013 without PC (if you always floor it there's no difference though). Maybe you need to disconnect the battery so the ECU can re-learn the throttle mapping in Eco mode?

I'm less interested in the throttle response on the 2013 and more interested in if it actually improves MPG. I find it hard to believe but I trust @mcgaskins so if he's seeing a difference on his 2016 I believe his experience (even if it's anecdotal).

I think the mpg pickup I've been getting is more due to the ability to drive more smoothly and dial in the right response level so the truck isn't hunting for gears. When I first got the 8 speed, I was shocked to see I was in 4th gear by 20mph with the truck lugging, and the first quarter travel of the gas pedal did virtually nothing at all. I'd get annoyed and give it about half or more throttle instead, and the truck would wildly downshift and respond in a completely non linear fashion. Now, I can give it 10% throttle, and it's smooth, responsive and linear. I have no idea what is actually going on inside the PC to make this happen, but it's a game changer for the 8 speed as many others have noted.

I do NOT believe this would have much if any positive impact on the 6 speed because it's already very well tuned (at least it is in my 08 LX), and I'm now getting the exact same mpg in both trucks at 14.8 (both on 34s). Trust me when I say that if I thought the PC would help my LX, I'd buy a second one. I have zero desire to try it because I don't think it would help, but if I had to do it over again I'd pay even more for it in the 2016.

Swap the PC to the LX for a couple tanks and see if it does!

In regards to MPG. Sorry, but making the throttle response quicker is not going to improve the MPG. OEMs spend millions, and if there were such a thing as improved throttle response with mpg enhancements, there is no way they would leave that on the table They optimize and fight for every percentage improvement here and there as its that big of a deal. For something to result in a measurable 2.5 additional mpg... Think about that, that's a ~15% improvement. As and engineer and tuner, I'd be more than highly sceptical, verging on calling BS. Not saying the individual didn't see the improvement, but there's just so many other variables at play that could have led to the perceived mpg improvent.

This does nothing to change any torque management that Toyota may include in their tuning. This simply modifies the electronic throttle input signal .

Well, it may change the shift pattern, or so I would hope. Driving the 2017 LC200 often feels like if one was using too much clutch in a stick shift. If that makes sense. Bumping the signal at the APS/TPS could be a remedy. Maybe.

I agree. This has been brought up here before by the OP. I think the issue is the shifting/over-revving of the engine when accelerating, the lack of linear progression in throttle curve (quite apparent in my 2017 LC200 if I pay attention) probably leads to wasting a bunch of gas, depending on one's driving style of course.
With throttle response smoothed out and adjusted for drivers habits, I can totally see how fuel economy gains can be achieved - as a byproduct/side-effect of the device.

Nothing to do with shift patterns either. Only amplifies throttle signal.
I am not bashing it by any means, just stating what it only does.
My buddy has one on his gen 1 Raptor. It is loads of fun. On the highest setting, the truck will roast the tires as soon as you even touch the throttle.

Well, the electronic transmission shift algorithm definitely considers the rate of voltage change, so that could be a basis for getting better spaced shifting patterns. Coming from several past Toyotas, I do think they got majorly spooked by the "accelerator-gate" fiasco and it would not surprise me if they are playing it safe with the throttle curve possibly at some expense of relative fun "drivability".
(EDIT: I understand I'm mixing up several issues here and lumping them together, but all I care about is the "drive-ability" while not loosing any MPG, or hurting her!!! )

I admit it is very hard for me to criticize the LC, absolutely the best driving machine (overall) I ever owned. But it is not perfect.

For example, when towing a boat in hilly terrain using adaptive cruise control... FOrgetaboutit! the amount of hesitation in throttle/shift management (and energy waste) is laughable. I gave up on the radar cruise when towing.

Now, once in gear and "pulling" this thing is amazing.
But "over-revving" and weird shifting (especially when the engine is completely cold) is apparent. I have gotten the looks like "what are you doing" from friends riding with me, on occasion, when driving off in the cold and the truck shifts as if driven with a stickshift by a skittish and/or inexperienced operator... kind of like when we used to learn how to drive a stickshift.

I plan to keep this truck until I die, lol. Seriosuly. So, my thinking is - if another $300 makes it even more awesome to drive, I just need a little bit more of justification. I like pretty much everything about the PC27 from what's here in this thread, find it very convincing. I wondered about any potential long term harm but it is hard to imagine there is going to be any, assuming no abuse.

I think there are plenty of people in this thread who have confirmed not only is it awesome but totally worth the cost. I’d listen to those with experience not only with the PC but also the 16+ LC. No offense but Teckis has neither, so I’d say give it a try, post your thoughts up here, and if you don’t think it’s worth it just send it back. You have nothing to lose giving a try, but I’m confident you’ll like it.
 
I'd buy it again. This week I also did TSB 0209-17 warranty upgrade which makes the 2016 run so much better, particularly with the Pedal Commander. I also like the fact that I can adjust the PC easily with my phone. My wife likes to drive the rig and does not like an aggressive pedal at all. I just turn it down for her. I think the combo of the PC and the TSB on my 2016 is great. It's a completely different vehicle than the stock configuration.
