Hey, all. What is the most optimal/preferred connection for the PCV hose for a desmogged '79?
In my case, the PO had it connected to the Vapor Vent on the carb (red circle in pic below), which is a Weber 38 DGES; this does NOT seem right to me. I believe other Weber 38 users have unplugged the hole in the carb base and plumbed the hose to that (green circle).
I have read elsewhere that in an OEM configuration it should be connected just below the carb base to the intake manifold via a union. Mine currently has a block plate over that area, but in the pic blow I removed that block plate and can see the 2 holes, the top being for the EGR (PO deleted) and the bottom being for the PCV hose connection (yellow circle).
I would like to return to as close an OEM configuration as possible. How are others solving this? Thread or weld a union on to the block plate? Or is there a vendor out there that provides a block plate with a union for the PCV hose?
