I have been hearing this annoying rattle for a very long time now and finally had the chance to check. The sound is prominent to the right side of the vehicle. A metallic rattling sound on acceleration. Observed on 2-3000 rpm. Ive searched here and other forums and it pointed me towards heat shields. Checked my heat shield and they were fine. Checked along the exhaust line and here is what i have found. The exhaust hangers/cushion broke apart. About $15 each x3. Hope it helps someone.

nice find. was the rattle noticeably outside the truck while you were driving? I have a passenger side rattle I cant hunt down, but seems inside the vehicle. was it clearly outside sounding?

If you think this might be your problem, lay under your truck and push UP on your exhaust pipe at different spots. You'll see the mounts and you'll see, very easily, where its broke the mount.

It is very noticeable inside the truck but when we were looking for it underneath the truck while it was running. The sound was very loud down there and it was very obvious where the problem was.

Took it for a test drive today. There are still a little bit of rattle. Looked again and found the metal clamp (the one holding the exhaust mani and the pipe to the cat) a bit loose so we tightened it some more. Hopefully thats the last of it.
