I'm trying to replace my shattered FJ-62 passenger mirror and just realized that a glass shop may be able to cut a new mirror. Anyone have any experience with local (Charlotte/Huntersville/Mooresville) glass shops that could replace the glass (or mirror I guess) only in a side view mirror? Not even sure if is possible with the way its mounted in the mirror housing on the 62.

Thanks,

Ethan, how much are they charging you? The reason I ask is because I need to replace the driver side mirror on my 80 and found a replacement on ebay for $57. My glass is not broken but rather the mounting tabs and support structure on the rear is all busted up.

The only cost I've got was for insurance purposes (moving company didn't fold the mirrors in and transported the truck rear facing, thus the shattered mirror) from two Toyota dealers, one here in NC and one in California. Price was ~$450 for the entire mirror assembly but neither of them could actually get it as I think the FJ-62 part has been discontinued. I used a bit of the payout to buy some aftermarket mirrors but I don't really like them and want to go back to OEM.
