Im knocking out all the irritating items and passenger seat heater is next. Both seat heater buttons light up when pushed, driverside heats up, and passenger is a no go. I would like someone that has dealt with this to tell me the logical steps to diagnose.
I havent pulled up the console yet to inspect the buttons, but if its lighting up that means its not the switch right?
I can still unplug it and maybe clean it and plug it back up.
Where do i look from here? I know there is heating elements in the seats, i just cant believe these elements just crap out that easy.
Its got to be a power issue or the heating element is garbage, i know thats obvious.
Any advice would be appreciated, i would like to figure it out before it get colder.
Also both lower seats leather replaced by PO maybe thats a reason seat heater not working, something not plugged back up??

Check the plug under the seat, check the switch, check power to the switch. But I haven't dealt with it, so who knows.
I can check the switch and I can check power to the switch. The plug under the seat? Where is the plug and how do I access it?

Well, it's under the seat. Part of the wires come from the floor, there's a connector in the middle, and the other end goes into the seat. Take a flashlight and look under the seat. Worst case, unbolt the seat from the floor and tip it back to see.

Ok. So i looked at the switch under the bezel, all looks good. Un bolted seat and found a mystery plug with a female end with no male end in sight. I have no idea what to do from here, anymore suggestions would be appreciated. I cant be the only one with seat heaters not working, or maybe everybody doesn't care about seat heaters, these are the first ive ever had.

Im thinking that the PO replaced the bottom portion of the seat with new leather and pulled out the seat heater pad that would connect to that mystery plug?? If im correct in assuming this, why would a person do that? I mean why??? Also doesnt the up right portion of the seat heat as well? That part is still original, i wonder why that wont heat?

Here is what i believe to be the plug that goes to seat heater.

Has anyone out there bought after market seat heater pads? If so give some feed back on what you did.

flip the switch on and off while you have a test light to the plug. see if itll turn on and off so you can be 100% sure its that plug. my 98LC has 1 harness with one plug underneath so im not sure what yours is.

Someone please correct me if I’m wrong... the plug is on the bottom of the seat. He won’t have power there UNLESS it is plugged into something. I would look around the amp, under the edge of the carpet or the console for a connector that matches that plug. Can you trace the wires coming from the switch headed out to the seat?

That plug that im pointing to is on the bottom back of the seat. It should have a another plug that attaches to it and goes to the seat heater. But I dont have power either way. There is only one set of wires that comes from the floorboard to plug into the seat, it has 3 different heads on the end of it. A grey head a white head and a yellow head, you can see it in the second pic, these power the motors for the seat. I dont know its over my head. I dont think I have a heating pad on the lower portion of the seat though.

find a wiring diagram and see which wire color is power for the heated seats. then find the wire and test it at the connector

My pax seat also doesn't heat, but the switch light comes on.

Let me check the electronics manual.

Hope this helps!

The pic of the connector is what your pax seater heater is.

LOL! That manual is pretty sweet. Idk, Its almost like chinese to me but I think I get it. Im missing the heating pad that plugs into S15. I just cant believe when a person spends the money on new seat covers why they wouldnt make sure the seat heater works, blows my mind man. I hate when stuff doesnt work. I called Granbury Toyota and they priced the pad at 400 something dollars, that might be why the PO didnt replace it, if in fact the pad didnt work anymore. My question to anyone on here is this, Which after market pads are compatible with the stock harness plug??
