Hey...:D
I'm looking for part number help with the --
alternator brushes
and
voltage regulator
for my daily driver - 1990 PRADO:eek:

I posted all the info I have in the JDM section. ( not much)

If any one has the numbers that would help.:)
I would like to replace the brushes and voltage regulator at the same time .
So I know the parts are new and not 16 years old.. as I'm going to have to replace one or the other any way..

Thanks 70sguy appreciate your help..

SO yesterday I tried to order the parts above at my local Toyota dealer.
The numbers they tell me are no good..??:whoops: and did not offer up any other numbers.
Dose any one have the part numbers that are good???:) OR the parts I need.?

IN the 1990 LJ78 Prado SX5---2L-TE
Is the Voltage Regulator seperate from the alternator or is it built into the alternator ?
If it is seperate where would it be located in the motor compartment?

Thanks in advance for any help you can throw my way...

any one

The part numbers are fine, they just are not available in Canada obviously.
Your dealer will not be able to look up the part numbers for you because the LJ78 was not sold in Canada or USA. The model will not be in their system.
Check with 4wheel auto in Edmonton or call a Toyota dealer in a country that sold the LJ78, AUS etc. If your alternator has an internal regulator then there will likely be a sticker on your alt that says IC Reg on it.
A good Auto Electric shop should be able to help you. They may be able to cross the reg number or order one straight from Denso.

Ok 70sguy understood.
So whats the diesel locomotive you refur to in your signature?
