Got any measurements for that thing? If it's in the fsm I apologize for not reading it before asking. My second job at the machine shop means I can build anything, except maybe a birf. It also means limited time to work on cruisers :(
 
The OEM tool looks like this. The drive is 1/2 inch and the "sides" of the triangle are 50 mm center-to-center on the pins. the pins are 6mm in diameter where they index with the wheel bearing nut.

They can be had for about 55 bucks. I know the job has been done without one but I have always used the tool so I can't offer any tips.
