Sooo, with all the stuff I've been accumulating to run in my newly acquired fj45 lwb removable top, Most of it needs a lot of work or alteration to make it work right.... If I DO part out the rusty '79 fj 55, I will not only have a good 2f that Ive maintained for 22 years, but ps, disc brakes and the peace of mind that it will all line up and work right. It even has a recent clutch and rear main seal, and pan gasket, plus it has a spector non usa carb and dizzy, very good manifolds, and a nice exhaust system that should work on the truck. All of these are big money savers....Ran it hard today, as it's mostly sat for 5 years and did a compression check. all were between 120 and 130. has 197,000 miles, 128.000 of which I put on as a family car...I think what really helped me make this decision was reading the 'best mods' thread and seeing how important power steering and brakes are to folks...so , I'll bust out the torch and sawzall and make it all easy to remove... lots of good parts for the pig guys, mostly interior, but Ive parted 2 of them so have extra radiators etc. I will also have lots of parts from the '83 2f I bought, and maybe the '83 split case and 4 spd......has excellent 33 x 9.50 x 15 on factory grey steelies with awesome hubcaps, but those stay. Will all 4 motor mounts on the fj 55 setup work when I install it in the 65 fj 45? (or is it a 66?) It's titled as a 65 but it's ser # fj4521371. I will definately have questions, and this site is what my kids would call 'bomb dot com'. thanks for being here.

Sorry, just body and interior parts. I will be keeping the axles and related gear. I would prefer 4.11's to the 3.73's but at least I know the history of the ones Ive got. And the reason for teasing about the wheels/tires is because I emailed a photo of it yeasterday to a guy on this site and asked if he might post it for me, and I thought I might get inquiries about them because they are so frikken sweet. In the past I have always gone to Canada for split rims and ran 235 x 85 x 16's for the tall skinny look. That was before I discovered 255 x 85 x 16"s ! Now we can put those rust prone splits in the back shed and roll tubeless. About 15 years ago, I chiseled the rivets off a set of 15" stock rims and bolted them to a set of Canadien split rims. There was an indentation on each raised boss to show where to drill. think I tapped them for 10/24's and nutted them on the back for security. There is a really cool photo in the haynes manual of a split with clips and a really old school tire hanging below it's bracket, and that inspired my madness for years.

btw, those were the hubcap CLIPS that I chiseled off, and bolted on....

back to your original question, on the motor mounts, I beleive the fronts on the motor will be the same, but the rears are different. I think you can take the pieces off the 45 bellhousing and bolt them to your 55 bellhousing. then they will line up.
they are different how the mounts are on the frame rails

Here is a picture of the rig.

Didn't know there was a stock ps box for the fj 45. I dont have the 45 here yet to compare, I'm just acquiring parts at this point. Should arrive next week. Will need some help. This thread says it 'moved'. but I don't know to where.... Can someone tell me?

looking for the left inner vent (by kick panel, hood release) and the pull rod that goes with it. thanks

IF the mirrors do not have ANY cracks in the mounts I'm interested!
