Thinking of going this Wednesday for car auction as there is Land Cruiser available. I hope to see if it has lockers. Anyway would it be good idea to have car dedicated to get parts from for small or no money for TAC members ?

Current bid is 50 dollars I would not spend more then 200 dollars as there is front end damage. What do you guys think ? Does anybody have space to store it ?

Depends on what you have planned. Parting out a rig is a lot of work and takes a lot of time. Time to pull parts, market them, and ship them.

I picked up a really crappy 40 and it has been very helpful with my build as it provided a few out of the ordinary replacement parts I needed. Would I have bought it just to part out - no as I don't have the time.

My $0.02.

Well I wasn't planning to part it out, more like having it available for TAC members to take parts when they need. Space is the most limited factor here. Otherwise I would just take the axles and scrape it. Off course the price is another factor - if I ought to buy the Cruiser for 1500 sure I would like to have it parted out and get some money back, another story is if I get the cruiser for couple hundred dollars.

It was unlocked , watched the bidding but didn't bid - ended up selling for 1300 $. People are crazy .

That seems cheap to what I have seen at the auctions. Don't forget that there was likely $300 more of fees someone paid to get it out of the lot.

Well there seems to be 10 percent auction fee and on top of it I paid 50 dollars this morning to be entered as guest. There are some nice cruisers on the insurance auction , some pretty badly destroyed but with good intact gear (like rear bumpers etc.) . For example:

I was a member a few years back to iaai. Every thing over sold way higher than it should have. only showed me these small lots are prabably buying them then doing really s***ty repair work and selling them rebuilt with new paint and a lot of bondo that will rust out in no time.

I will see couple more auctions online and will report back.
