Looks like the potential buyer for my orange and white 55 isn't gonna be able to make the deal. At this point the best thing for me is to part the old girl out- lotsa good stuff on her and I wanted to list at least the 55-specific items here first. I can tell you that this truck performed admirable on the trail and everything on it worked quite well. Lots of guys have either driven it on the trail or wheeled with me and I think all would attest to how good this truck works. In any event here goes:
Front axle- an FJ62 axle with 4.10 third member from a 97 FJ80. yes it's an E-locker and the wiring harness and switch go with the axle. The knuckles have been turned for my spring over configuration and the truck goes down the road straight as an arrow, in my opinion perfect steering geometry on this one. Has 4X4 Labs high steer (yeah the $550 kit) with the big tie rod and steering link. The locker works perfectly. Has the full Longfield setup- inner axles, birfs, outers, and hub gears. has Aisin hubs that turn freely. Brakes work great, too. $1100
Rear axle- from the same FJ62, has 4.10 gears with an Aussie locker that behaves perfectly. Great brakes, in fact it has two new OEM backing plates. Axles are from Poly performance. Has an anti-inversion bar on it, too. The axle has been set up for spring over. This axle still has the parking brake gear on it and I will include the proper cable to hook up to it. Price $535
Tranny with doubler- Potentially Sold- I have a deposit for this unit
this unit works perfectly. Has a four speed trans, with a Marlin (2.28) crawl box behind it. A three speed transfer case mounts to the crawl box. Has a case saver on the transfer case. The regular transfer case has a twin stick setup that works perfectly. All together this unit has fourt shifters- (4 speed transmission, Marlin crawlbox, 2WD/4WD, and regular transfer HI/LO). Works great never had a problem with it $1600.
Driveshafts- perfect for this setup, professionally built front with double cardan joint at the transfer end. This cost me $550 and is worth every penny. $200 Rear is a shortened stock unit with good U-jopints price $75.
Engine- SOLD SOLD SOLD rebuilt three years ago by Jim C fort Jeff Dozier, I got it in a swap for a diesel. Jim went over the entire engine, has new bearings, rings, and stuff. The head was completely gone over. This engine sounds and runs great. Only oil leak is from the rear main for whatever reason. Oil pan is a modified new OEM unit to clear the old rear mounted tie rod. Jim also redid the carb and distributor- this engine came from an 87 FJ60 and has the best electronic distributor. Jim desmogged it, too and it's simple. The carb works great- one or two pumps and she lights right up. The alternator works great and I wil include the gear drive starter with it. It also has a great clutch I will leave the bellhousing and all that stuff intact. Has a header that has the lower two tubes dented (from the rear mounted tie rod) but I have a brand new chrome replacement for it. It also has a non-leakign perfectly working FJ60 power steering pump. Of course the water pump and all drive belts are included. $1250 SOLD SOLD SOLD for the complete setup
Exhaust system- if someone wants the engine they might want the exhaust system- bolts right to the header with a heavy duty flange, has a good muffler, no leaks, and doesn't rattle at all. $75
Front bumper, a modified Iron pig unit. Great looking, and has a Warn 9500TI (I think) winch with 125 feet of new Amsel synthetic line. Works perfectly $575 for the bumper and winch.
Tan SR5 seats from an 85 4Runner these have the SR5 printed on the upholstery. Extremely comfortable need a cleaning. Mounted on a cool square tube frame that allows storage undernath for jacks and whatever. The whole works(bracket and seats)$125
Tan tuffy 10" console with compartment for stereo fits this app perfectly $110
Radiator- recored by Tunnessen's in Hazelton (close to Paragon)last year this rad keeps my piggy cool in any weather. Many a hot summer day I left the old girl idling while spotting or helping somone. the rad shop charge was $420!!!! price $185
Rear tailgate with good window and perfectly working motor raise/lower mechanism. has new gears of course and the wiring is intact. Take the whole tailgate or I can send the guts via UPS. $75
Rear springs $95 the pair Cargo mat nice shape $45
The driver side fender is pretty much rust free would like to get $100 for the two piece unit.
It for now gotta get back to work. Best to email me shmukter@pa.metrocast.net or at work GSCHMAUCH@cartech.com. Parts located northeast PA near Rausch Creek offroad park. Thanks, Gary S
