Second time around doing a timing belt on a 2004 GX470. I wanted to get the part numbers down here because it's a PITA to get all the correct numbers...
I always try to refresh hoses and clamps with OEM when they are this old just so I don't get surprised by one blowing later on. I love knowing I don't have to worry. I also put in new brush set into the alternator while most stuff is out of the way. Cheap insurance, they have about 25% or less left at this point in both vehicles. I also change out the cam and crank seal at this age, again cheap insurance for no leaks down the road.
I'll add more of what references and tools I used, and issues I may have run into performing the TB change. It's a fairly easy job to do, but can be time-consuming if you haven't done it before, and care about cleaning everything, when it's a s*** show in there after months of leaking coolant from a torn o-ring at the inlet that the last guy did poorly. Somehow it lasted for 50-70K.

- Aisin TKT-021 qty 1 @ $174.78 Timing belt kit from amazon https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008EEYWKI?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_1&th=1
- there used to be concern about whether they used an Aisin pump (no label), and there used to be a chip in the cast.
- The recent one I purchased no longer has the chip in the casting and has the Aisin label
