I won't be much help here, but I think I can identify a couple of these things. I'll go ahead and say I don't know for the numbers I don't know to make it a little easier.

1. don't know
2. don't know
3. looks like a fuel line with a filter in it
4. coil
5. if you are talking about the thing the battery cable goes to it is part of the starter. It looks like the solenoid
6. horn maybe
7. don't know
8. don't know
9. just a guess here but looks like the canister that the fuel tank is vented into

Maybe it doesn't help much, but I think most of those are right. Of course I'm not the end all and be all. Definitely don't know a whole lot about them so you may want confirmation from others.

What is this on by the way?

I think number one might be the four wheel drive switch and the lever may be the throttle lever supplied in some rides

1. Four wheel drive pull switch / lever is for high and low.
2. Not sure but prolly horn relay.
3. fuel line / filter / electric pump.
4. Coil
5. Starter / Solenoid
6. Horn
7. VSV / part of what little smog equip. is on my 71
8. Voltage regulator
9. Fan for heater / vent

Looks like my 71 fj40

I'll have a go...

1. Some knobs, too blurry to tell. Chase the cables/mechanisms and find out where they go.
2. Relay, horn, flasher, heedlight? dunno. where is it located?
3. Fuel filter, Not surprised it shakes, lots of restriction in that tight bend and looks like three filters.
4. Coil, unused by the look of it. Then again Tesla might have been onto something.
5. Starter
6. Looks like a horn onthe left and the headlight pot on the right
7. Snake oil dispenser? dunno looks like a vaccum canister.
8. I don't understand the question.
9. Cabin Fan and airbox

In the first pic, I think the knob on the far left, hanging down is the cowl vent?
Next to the right is maybe the hand throttle, like if you have a PTO winch?
Otherwise I think everything else is on the money. Looks like an early '40. Like later 60's?

This is correct, it looks just like mine. The far left is the e-brake, the hose hanging is the drivers side defrost, the lever is the high/low, the pull switch with the yellow on it is the four wheel drive, and the switch on the right is the fresh air vent.

1. Park brake, Hi-Low lever, 4WD switch, hood vent knob (left to right)
2. Horn Relay, mounts to pass. fender near battery tray
3. Electric ful pump causing a "hammer" effect when it is pushing a high vlume and being rejected by low fuel consumption at the carb, in addition the the routing.
4. Coil
5. Starter solenoid (mechanical swich, relay essentially) with the actually starter motor (large cylinder)
6. Pass. side horn
7. Emission valve
8. External voltage regulator
9. Blower motor & box
