Great forum here, lots of info! Glad I found it.

I live in Costa Rica, and just picked up a 2008 Prado VX. KZJ120L-GKPGT, 1KZ-TE engine. Are there any resources on what parts are compatible between the GX470 and the Prado? I found a few tidbits online, like this:

The Prado 120 parts
Engine Parts ( becoz 6 cyclinder ) , Electrical Parts, Engine ECU Not compatible except (Navigation ECU, Wipers, Alternators, Charging System. Front & Rear AC unit) wiring Distribution totally different. Body Parts such as Fenders, Bumpers Not compatible

Suspension parts ( Partly ) , Brake Parts, Wheel Rims, Interior Brushed Aluminum panels, Wooden Panels, Rear Tail Lamps, Rear Cargo Door Bumper Aluminum Protection - Compatible.
That's helpful, but it's not comprehensive. Car parts (and cars) are extremely expensive down here, and I have a trip to the states coming up - would like to stock up on a few things when I'm there. Namely brake pads, LED lights (interior & possibly fog lights), and some oil filters... I'll probably find more as I go. Hoping I don't need to get new rotors, there's a decent amount of vibration when braking.

Thanks for any help!

brake pads and rotors are the same for sure. interior LEDs should be the same. fogs, not sure as the housings are different. oil filters will be different as we don't have toyota diesels up here. all the front drivetrain and rear axle drivetrain are the same (CVs, tie rods, etc).

Let's see some pics of your Prado! Mine is quite boring at the moment but I'm working on swapping most bits over to the GX parts.

Body Parts such as Fenders, Bumpers Not compatible

Not true, same body, everything fits but if you're swapping the front, you need to swap the whole front as they fit together slightly differently. ( hood, bumper, fenders, and headlights)
