I just put in the new Rival4x4 LC200 (first one in USA) and after putting in the parking sensors, I get an error in the truck when starting up. They are in the exact same position as OEM, is this just because I disconnected them and Toyota wants to check them/ get my money. Anyone have this issue with aftermarket bumpers? Any driveway remedy?

I started up multiple times without sensors plugged in, and the rig seemed to immediately recover from "sonar" error after they were put back.

What specific error are you receiving?
did you have to modify the sensors to fit in the hole?
Are them jammed in really tight?

Good looking bumper. I’d would recommend double checking all the connections for the sensors and make sure they are nice and snug. i have the dissent aluminum bumpers with the parking sensors, no issues from mine. The sensors are gently cradled In the rubber Gasket that holds them in the bumper. As mentioned above are yours jammed in super tight?

If all else fails unplug the battery for a few mins and then See if the codes are gone.

I'm actually going with Dissent for my rear bumper, like his work.

When I say "jammed" I mean I snapped them in tightly. Luckily they are easily accessible, I'll get in their tonight and fiddle - going to disconnect battery first to see if that clears error. Thanks for feedback.

Is it a parking sensor error or sonar? Looks like you painted over the emblem that is transparent for the sonar the function properly.

Ya, what exactly is the "error"? I don't think the radar sensor behind the badge will tolerate any changes to the surface of the badge, at least without re-calibration. Is that paint, stick on vinyl?

I drove my truck for about a month with no sensors in the rear bumper until I had time to extend the harness. Once I plugged them all back in, everything worked fine, no issues.

Did you guys not have black sensors?
Let's define the parking sensors as sensors - they are color matched. And sonar as the sensor that sits behind the Toyota emblem front and center. There are some others that doctored the Toyota emblem - blacked it out if you will... and had issue w/ their sonar system. Same page?

ahh, i just noticed his toyota emblem. To further complicate things: when I had my parking sensors unplugged, my dash was giving me "check sonar system" messages.

I'm guessing the problem is the paint or wrap that's on the front Toyota emblem in the grill, but a pic of the actual error you're seeing on the dash would be helpful to troubleshoot. I haven't had any issues with a 13 or 16 200 when removing the parking sensors and then plugging back in. Now that I think about, I didn't even unhook my battery when I installed the Rhino front bumper on my 13.

For my issue- the connector from sensors to the truck wasn’t snapped down- problem solved when connected correctly
As for the blacked out emblem, it doesn’t impact the radar at all, was actually done by the dealership before I bought it.
