I need some help diagnosting my parking light. It dont ***kin work. One does and not the other. Fuses are all good. I bought a multimeter from a local store, got home and there are no instructions. How do I use it to see if the bulb is bad or there are other problems? I got this only a little while ago so I don't know if that last jerk messed up something or not.

Radio Shack has a book with instructions on how to use a multi-meter. It will help you learn to use yours, no matter whether it's from RS or not.

To diagnose your bulb problem, you could just switch bulbs though, put the good one into the "bad" side. If that solves the problem, then you know it's a bulb problem.

If that does not solve the problem, then the multi-meter might come in handy (though a simple electrical tester, with a bulb that lights up, will work great too). You'll need to trace the wiring back to something that works. Make sure to check both ground and positive.

Best Regards,

HAH ***kin s*** I wonder why I didn't think of that. Peace out dude.

Set your MM on DC voltage. Turn your E-lights. Black lead goes to a good ground on the chasis, red one goes to each of the solder on the bulb socket. If your MM fluctuates, then you get power; if not, then check the wiring for possible cut/corroded areas. You might want to try this on the good side first to get a feel.

Frank.

It could be that there's a dim witt somewhere in the system. Have you ***kin checked that?

You have a bulb that's not working and you didn't just swap it out to check it?

Wow. Don't even think about doing a knuckle rebuild.
