I can't find any mention of a paper gasket potentially installed between the LC100 water inlet housing and the water pump anywhere, so I'm throwing a "fish hook" out there to see if anybody else has run into this, and to hear from those of you who have already successfully made this repair. When I removed my old water inlet housing last night in order to replace it with a new one, I was surprised to find what appears to be a paper gasket between the water inlet housing and the water pump (see pic of water pump with paper gasket, as well as original water inlet housing with corroded FIPG below). My new water inlet housing has the pre-applied FIPG gasket (like the one shown in the stock photo further below).
I thought the only gasket needed between the water inlet housing and the water pump is the pre-installed FIPG gasket that the new water inlet housing comes with. Is this correct? Thanks.
