I've been several times before. Toyotas are definitely in the minority. I drove my FJ40 down there one year, and my 80 one other. All the trails are pretty easy as you know. The wind can really blow at the main camp site, and the last time I went, blew ALL the tents flat, blew over the portapots etc. Have fun!

I will be going for the first time. Greg (an experienced charter member) and I from Beach N Toys in San Marcos will be there. I will be hazing my recent FJ45LWB frame off. We will drive up Thursday night and are eager to wheel with other crushers. If you want to join up, call me at 760-458-8828.

Greg Mcnabb from B&T's? I know Greg. My club, geared 4 fun, will be going to the event and I think we will be camping together. You guys are welcome to come along with us on our runs as I think we usually try to do our own seperate runs to stay away from the crowds. I will shoot Greg an email. I plan to leave Friday afternoon, can't get the day off. Too late to call you, but give me a ring whenever: 858.354.1985

x2. I've been twice, and was MAJORLY glad that I brought a truck to sleep in. The wind there this time of year can really SUCK. Hope the CA4WDC peeps give you some good hospitality.:)

is this happening this coming weekend?

thats a coincidence, i didnt even know about it but im leaving for DV in the morning, tomorrow. plans are to stay at china garden camp mon night, then on to clares camp for tues and maybe more (this is somewhere ive wanted to snoop around since first seeing it last spring) and then not sure what i will do, maybe go up the canyon more and come out south park, or maybe go up to the hot springs or maybe try some trails i was told about last year. or maybe try to find whats called "jail canyon" i think.

but i was planning on leaving friday, thursday being the last night.

maybe if i meet up with some other folks i will stay for the weekend but my plans right now are to go home, change clothers, and head to southern utah mid week after next.

i wont be checking email again before i leave but if anyone sees a silver fj60 with a black hood and rack and arb bumper, come over and introduce yourself!

one love

Yeah, I think I'll be there.

I plan on being there sometime Friday morning. Got some new shoes on my rig, gotta get them polished up a bit! :grinpimp:

And thanks for the heads-up on the wind. I'll definitely be camping inside my truck.

Anyone bringing any 2meter gear along?

Dana
