So among the leaks of gases and fluid I've been chasing, one is of course vacuum. I've been trying to track it down with propane, no luck. Figured I'd try brake fluid bc why not at this point. I didn't get any results in terms of hearing the engine bog down but I did see bubbling at the seam with the arrow when I sprayed a bit too much by accident. Didn't bog the engine but could this be my problem? I assume there is a gasket in there that has failed but it doesn't appear that that is available as its own part. Is there something I can block off in the short term without doing a full delete (I will do sometime soon)? Ball bearings in a small hose or cap a larger one? Something like that?

There is an almost 100% chance the hose that feeds from that valve to the filter housing is cracked and/or leaking as well. That hose is NLA, so folks follow a number of methods to remove PAIR if it will pass muster where they are. if NOT...

You could disassemble the valve housing and RTV it with hi-temp RTV as a formal gasket.

Also, brake fluid eats paint. I'd make sure to rinse the engine bay down well.

My 94 runs great without pair.

Removing pair or deleting it, will still pass smog inspection except for visual. Been told that pair does nothing for emissions.
Mine had been blocked for the last ten years and passed emissions at less than half the allowable levels. The hose running from the valve to the filter canister was clearly split, and the inspectors never said a word.

My EGR may have been deactivated that entire time as well. It still passed at less than half of the allowable. It's kind of frustrating that folks spend so much time and money trying to make those silly systems work on these trucks. Not even gonna touch on the wiring harness damage, etc.

Here in Texas, no more inspections, so C'est La Vie.
