Hey, can any one help with a problem I'm haveing painting over powdercoat? I've picked up a used Tuffy console that was factory powder-coated gray. It is very rough with a lot of deep scratches and some chips and soforth. I was needing to repaint it black. I first rattle-caned the cup holder after wipeing it down real good with acetone {rustoleum gloss black}. The paint looks like its not wanting to stick. Has any body ever had any luck painting over powder-coat? What do I need to do? I really don't feel like stripping the whole box. Will roughing it up first with some sand paper help? What about a primer? Is any thing on the market that will help?
Thanks....DAVE
