The paint on the Slee bumpers and sliders on my 80 is getting a little skanky. Any recommendations on paint brand/type? I do have a paint gun and compressor, but I'm not too proud to use rattle can either. Thinking of a semi-gloss finish. Thanks for your input...

I found some" Rustoleum Trim and Bumper" paint at Lowe's about a year ago. It's a rattle can in a semi gloss black finish. I used it on my mirrors and hood latches and it still looks great. You're only going to scratch it again so I wouldn't worry about it much.

Thanks fellas - kind of what I was thinking. Rattle can it is!

I used that T&B paint on my front OEM endcaps and found it to look like those cheezy rubberized bumpers from the 90's and the ones on Pathfinders and such. Probably what it's for. Nothing like the awsome painted and polished heavy steel bumpers on our 80's.

Rustoleum appliance paint, its a gloss black but essentially acrilic enamel in a can.. comes in black, white and silver, and if you buy it at walmart its about the same price a buying paint at the paint store, if you do $$ per ounce...

Take a tube same diameter as your skid, cut in half, weld/bot under neath. It takes the abuse so your tube does not. It is called a skid plate.

John Deere paint made by Valspar for industrial applications. Use the blitz black for a flatter color or the light gloss black for a little more shine. I painted my Slee with it and it has been holding up great. You can buy it in rattle can or mix and spray. I have been happy with it.

How about Hammerite?
