Seems like since I have owned my LC I can count on installing new front pads every 15K miles. Don't get me wrong I would rather have the pads wearout then the rotors and I never have to turn the rotors just replace the pads (saves $$). Anyone else have this wear interval? Is there a better pad then OEM, that will give me longer wear without eating my rotors?

Your interval is within the normal range of wear with stock pads. You could switch to the 1997 pad (04465-60110) or go up one step and install 100 series pads (04465-60151).

The 04465-60110 pads have a different compound that lasts longer than the 04465-60020 pads. The 04465-60151 pads have a similar compound to the 04465-60110 pads and more surface area and they are thicker. In order to use 100 series pads you will need to replace or re-surface the rotors because of the larger footprint of the 100 series pad. I have a set on mine with about 20,000 miles on them and there is still well over half of the friction material left.

Pit,

Are you talking ALL FOUR get replaced ea 15k, or just the fronts?

Dan,

Do the '97 pads sell for the same price? That's great info if so!

Thanks Dan, I will get the 97 pads. Doug it's just the fronts. The rear last 80K miles for the first set.

Pit,

Crank your brake proportioning valve a bit to relieve the overworked fronts. Did this 5 years ago and the shoe wear patterns have changed to reflect more balanced braking. I didn't get carried away - just a few threads in two increments a few months apart.
