Just picked up this 2006 Pacific Blue last week. It's in almost new condition. Florida car it's whole life and driven by a an older woman. Full maintenance records from Toyota. No accidents, rust or stains. Barely a scratch on her.

I absolutely love everything about the 100 series. My wife has a GX470 and I sold my FJ to buy this. The 120s are great but the 100s check all my boxes.

The build will be very mild and very slow. Funds are low right now after purchasing a new boat. I removed the flares and painted the side trim to match as a start. We'll see where it goes from there. Maybe crank torsion bars and rear spacers with airbags to help with towing the boat.

First pic is the day I brought her home. Second is how she looks today.

Nice score! How many miles are on it?

153k. Trans was flushed at 150. As well as new brakes and shocks. No AHC. Even came with a full tank of gas. She said she didn't want the new owner to have to do anything to it for a while. Paid $16,500.

Seems like a good deal but for the life of me I can't understand why you guys take the flares off. I don't get it. Looks better with them on.

Diff strokes, I guess - I think the flares look awful.

Congrats! Looks far, far better without those flares! I would have left the body trim bumper color, but it looks very clean. LC's in general are rare where I live, but I never see that color and it looks great on the LC. Curious how it compares to the GX?

They aren't flares - they don't extend the tire coverage. They're no different than the stick-on Buick-style fender vents or fake billet gas tank doors. Like the chrome tire cover on a MB G500, those fender "garnishes" serve only one purpose - to make the truck look fancier. Land Cruisers don't need to be garnished. ;)

And yeah - that is a nice 100. Love the color. Love the body-matched trim.

Barring silver, which I happen to own, that Pacific Blue is my favorite color. Nice score! Enjoy it and don't rush the modifications.

Great color combo and looks way better without those "flares" . Congrats ...

Thanks guys. You can't tell in the first pic but the center stripe of the trim was pretty faded and looked awful so I decided to color match the whole thing. I'm hoping to do slee bumpers in the future so I left the bumpers gray for now.

The LC is a little roomier than the GX. It's not quite as peppy due to the weight difference. I'm 6' tall so the GX always felt a little cramped for me but my wife loves it. The LC seats are more comfortable and cushy. The GX actually tows the boat better than the LC. I think that's mainly due to the rear air suspension. I considered taking her GX and getting her a new GX460 but after I drove this LC I figured save the money and buy the boat. She loves her current GX and didn't want the upgrade anyways. They're very similar but the added room of the LC is very nice for me and the kids.

Good choice on removing flares and painting trim. Id like to see what a Pacific Blue 100 looks like with running boards removed, lift, black bumpers front and rear, black wheels, tint and proportionally-sized BFG ATs.

I'm debating on painting mine black from the molding down. Nice to see another blue one!
No black wheels and still trying to decide on a bumper but this is close...

If you want to see what it would look like with that lower section black, I would definitely Plasti-dip it. Hardly any prep work, just tape it off at the molding and spray it on. Then if you don't like it or go to sell one day, it will peel right off. I dipped the lower portion of my 62 and its actually pretty durable. The black has a satin finish and would match that rear bumper and slider very close I think.
