through the river and over the woods.
had some work done, bodyshop has left some overspray on the window, any suggestions other then just take a flat razor to it?

If it's on the window rubber use 1000 grit sandpaper

Razor blade, double 00 steel wool and some glass cleaner...should be good as new.

use wd40

make sure it doesn't get on the paint. It will take it off fast.

Wow! I was not aware that wd40 would work as a paint remover too. Do you spray it on the surface you do not want the paint on and leave it sit, or just wipe it right off? How long does it take to work? Thanks for the great tip!

ya never apply it to anything you don't want to come off. It penitrates and it will lift your paint.

ya you can wipe it off or let it sit for a a few seconds but i wouldn't let it sit too long. I would never sand the surface of my windshield no matter how fine it is, but thats just me.:D

Finger nail polish remover

Also known as Acetone.
I work with this daily. Well? Acetone, not finger nail polish remover:D

I've shot WD40 on paint many times. On purpose.

If you don't get it all off it'll leave a funky residue that makes the underlying paint appear flat but it has never removed any paint for me. I douche my bikes with it whenever I've got some serious gunk on 'em and then shoot 'em w/ a pressure washer. Have for years.

The poster that said it'd remove paint might have used the special WD-aerosol brake fluid version. Try a small spot in an area that won't be obvious first but I'm betting you'll find WD40 to be pretty harmless to most vehicle paints.

I wouldn't use it on the windshield though as the film it leaves will be noticeable on glass or plexiglass and you'll have a hell of a time getting to a zero residue state.

yes, wd40 will lift your paint if left on if you do not wipe it off immediatly. WD40 is a penitrait and is meant to penitrait through anything to get to metal. Any professional painter knows this as well.

If you have a clear coat this could be the main reason you do not notice it yet.

Regular 'ol WD40 removes paint? I had to put it to the test. I hosed down this 1/4 panel a week ago and while this was a poor paint job to begin with it is still intact. Photos are showing a second soaking of the paint with WD40.

If the paint actually does lift off because of the WD40  I'll update this post.

wd-40 has petroleum distillates in it, I would not leave it on paint long.

but....to each his own.
