This is so up in the air. But i have been wanting to go to the outer banks for a few years now. I would LIKE to make it happen this year well before it gets hot and buggy. Actually i am thinking feb or march MAYBE. I would rather have cold than bugs, crowds and heat. I am mostly thinking Cape Lookout. I figure one or two nights might be all i can do out there. Even that would make a 4 day or so trip with drive and boats getting there.

It would be me, my wife and my two dogs. Unfortunately one of the dogs does not like other dogs. So all dogs would need to be leashed (park rules anyway). This would be a pretty chill trip. Mostly just enjoy some nice quiet ocean with lots of quiet down time. Beach driving and camping.

I dont have any exact dates or schedual yet. Unfortunately i might not be able to be real flexible about what works for me. But i will put it out there if i think i can make it happen.

Is there any interest at all from anyone else in doing this? It would be fun alone but might also be fun to have one or two others along for a nice lazy trip.

Would I need an RTT? JK, I haven't been beach camping in years, sounds like a fun trip.

It is on the coast of NC. Mostly looking at Cape Lookout National Seashore.

We would be camping in the truck on a sleeping platform. I think a tent should be fine. There is some information on their web page about camping and using longer tent stakes in the sand. But i dont really know much about that.

PS. I bet a Subaru would be fine for most of this...;)

Look up Old North State clubs Spring Tide Ride. Awesome group.
