Well, I made the drive up to Dallas last weekend with a 60 in tow and ended up trading for a 40. I've regretted selling my last 40 since about 10 minutes after it sold and couldn't pass up this opportunity.

Traded a solid running 60 for a non running 40 with a couple drive train issues, but it worked out great for both sides of the deal.

Will be a while before I start working on it, but I had to share, I'm just a little excited about this one!!!

I saw that 40 and thought real seriously about it. Its gonna make you a nice ride.

I think you made a hell of a deal!!! Post up more pics.

Thanks Jeff! I'm missing my clean, cold a/c, 60 a little though... but I couldn't pass up the opportunity for a new 40 project.

Couple more from the trailer and the fancy hard set tie rod adjustment from 2 owners back. :)

Ping Mark Mellon-Werch. He is a Vintage Air dealer. He can fix ya up on the coldness.

LOL!!! It is amazing how people booty-fab their steering. Jason Keene, JK Customs, can make you a tie rod with FJ80 ends.

MORE PICS!!!!

Michael,

Just saw this thread. Hope you're having fun with the 40. I know I'm having fun bumming around town in the nice cold AC of your ex-60. Thanks again for everything!

Thanks Robert!

Glad to hear you and the 60 are out there having fun! I changed jobs last week so I haven't had much time with the 40, but I'm hoping for some time soon.

So far just pulling part numbers/stamps off of stuff and digging on the web to identify everything before I make the plan. Still can't figure out the rear end, appears to be a Toyota 4.31 with Limited slip (per the stamp on the 3rd), but not out of a mini truck or 4runner. The hunt continues.....

Thanks again, let me know if you post up a build thread for the 60!
