I have Orion kits in stock and can configure them to work with the 10 or 16 spline input gears.

Well, right now I have a Turbo 350 tranny mated to a toyota 3 speed transfercase. The engine is a Chevy 454, and there is no way that transfercase will take the torque of a 454. I know the orion cases need to be built, and they cannibalize some parts from the toyota 3 speed. What I'm asking, is do you have one built up, and I could send you the three speed I have as a core? The FJ40 is actually my daily driver, I am paying for a rental car, and as little downtime as possible is preferable.

That makes a whole lot more sense. I'm not sure why you mentioned the Marlin unit in your first post since Matlin has nothing to do with the Orions or adapters between the TH350 and your 3-spd case.
I have everything here to build an updated Orion for you. Realistically we would only use 3 parts from your existing 3-spd case, top cover, PTO cover and speedo housing.
If your cruiser runs and drives right now then keep it all together and drive it. I can build you a replacement case which you could then switch out in a day. That way there's very little "down time" and you won't need a rental car.

Hey man, I'm formerly a jeep guy! Sorry! I was just trying to go with the best limited info I had. My cruiser is actually in the shop right now, but it's more of a driveshaft issue than anything. I have a rental car for like a week and a half, I'd really like to not dig into my credit cards and pay for more than that.
How long do you think it will take you, and what's the price?

I'll send you a message.

Can have it ready to ship on Wednesday.

That looks so good George-thanks again! I'll post pics when it's all in my FJ40.

Do you also carry the adapters to chevy transmissions? Thinking about LS1/NV4500 for my FJ40 that I just bought as a shell. Unfortunately don't have any oem transfer case :(

Hello again Georg.
I don't believe it is possible, but I wanted to ask you first. Is there any way that you can mate a Cruiser R151F to an Orion transfer case?

I suppose it would take some sort of adapter plate and a different input shaft if even possible.

Thanks!

Chuck

I do not think that you can run an early case behind an R151.
However, you can run the split case with a set of the Sumo Gear 4:1 low range gears! We keep these in stock, they sell for $975.

Sent a PM back in Jan, looking for a quote for an Orion case, I have a donor case to pull parts from. My vehicle has a Chevy 350 with H42

Thanks

I’d also like a quote on a 4:1 Orion. I’ll be replacing the 73 3speed Tcase with a ‘79 sm465. Thanks

Are you going to be using a plate style adapter?

Yes, I’m hoping to reuse the plate adapter I have.
Just so I understand the process here you need the nose cone and speedometer housing? But not the internal gears?

Hi Georg! I'm getting back on my '73 project. I have a 4l80e behind a 6.0ls going in. What do I need to put in the Orion case? I have the '73 donor t-case and a TH400 adapter.
Thanks!

Hi Georg.

I'm working on putting a 4BT/NV4500 combo into my rig and am planning on using an Advance Adaptors converter and the stock 3-speed TC along with the AA cross member for the TC. In the future I'm interested in upgrading to one of the Orion cases. If I weld in that AA cross member, will it work for the Orion case or will it be in the wrong place?

It'll work just fine. The stock case and Orion are the same dimensions as far as that's concerned.

Hello!! I have a 1977 stock 4spd & xfer, would really like to replace the xfer case with an Orion and am happy to pull mine out and send it to you, lol. If you’re still doing this, please let me know! Looking at Jan or Feb for this, money-wise!
