I believe this key is 90999-00175. Blade is the same as 00174 and 00153, but different head. I think Toyota may have used it interchangeably for the A70 Supra in the US. Definitely seen them on auction cars in photos from Supras and even 4Runners. I've determined that Toyota had different variants of the same keys, maybe to fool people into not thinking the same key would work for theft purposes.

What's funny - you can get this key with the entire lock set for a 1989-1995 Pickup/4Runner, which are still available new. Even though they came with 90999-00174 which is readily available.

Are you able to remake 90999-00103? This key is the black master for the 1984 Cressida that I love and discontinued. Funny enough - you can get the ignition lock for these with not only that key but 90999-00069...but Toyota discontinued selling the blanks to you new or in the case of 00069, it's superseded to 90999-00099. You think if they're still making them they might as well sell the blanks too, unless they have stockpiles but I doubt it!

90999-00103 has the same rubber head as 00104, but the blade is shorter and it has the slit in it. Used in the X60 Cressida and V10 Camry.

Hi @ToyotaMatt I need a couple 90999-00174 keys cut for my ‘96 Land Cruiser. I already have my code. If I need to have some keys delivered to you. I can do that. Let me know if you can help. Thanks!

Please PM me here on MUD ….

we can further dive into that topic there …

- I shot this earlier today just before mailing out this lovely little Bouquet of JIS Bliss …

I like Fresh , Tight , Sharp and True TEq ….

ALL the OEM Toyota Factory SST Code Cut blanks below are solid Nickle metal , under the Black plastic head of the 90900-00174,s also

- my 90999-00164 aka “ Original Key “ is plated in Pladium , the 2 new comers aftermarket ones are 2 variants..

The super shiny ✨ TOYOTA one is simply chrome plated brass

The later EYE-BALL logo that says “ for “ TOYOTA is still a bit unknown ?

I think it’s maybe Nickle plated , if so it’s a super good quality …

The word “ for “ I am in the odd-process of asking how many I need to scoop up to have the little shi#ty “for “ nixed when they stamp them …

This will then fall under my “ Sema-Spec. concept vision “ branding mission statement of being just that “ custom professional mechanical artwork “

The 90999-00164 , that is one hell of a period correct reproduction part ! 🙂

Enjoy the below :

I have a dozen or so locks and keys ……little meme reels like this …

Thanks for support …

🚨- Noteworthy NOTE Alert : 🚨

-
it is my conclusion as of right now , in the last " ? HOURS ? " ...

- the
90999-00163 OEM Toyota Genuine Parts 91-97 all things 80 Series Cold-Spec. / SNOW-VERSION Land Cruiser Key Bank ...

- has been Disc. / NLA .....

- however , i have only seen this very unique and exact same in kind : Parts Supersession of
90999-00163 to now 90999-00174 play out a hand full of times ....

- i have faq-checked this topic at least a dozen or more times today as well

- the
90999-00163 does NOT come up anywhere as simply Discontinued or out of Production ,

- it has 100% simply changed the part # to the
-00174 and use the " TERM " replaces"

- below are current and verified Toyota genuine parts images as today
3 / 30 / 2024 , of 90999-00174 & 90999-00163

- if anyone else has facts based technical input to share here , please do so .....

.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

personal last thought :

- this topic pizzes me off royally  Yet another example of
" Stupid Toyota Japan " decision with no-clue who & what the global land cruiser community is as there greatest and most lifetime loyal end product users & supporters ..

Do you guys think that if I changed the locks on my car, there would be any future problems? I dont plan to sell this truck any time soon but I'm just thinking.
No, it will be fine. I replaced all of the lock cylinders and keys on my 80 with a kit from Toyota. I got it from Japan, and it has several keys, including a credit card spare.

i have the re-occurring nightmare at night , that @ 12:01 AM local JDM time zone time ......1 / 1 / 2030

TOYOTA erases all the global price tapes of all
90999- Key , Sub. assy. Blank 's 💤😴💤

i hope this is not another rapid onset l TEqPartsJEDI vison of the future that comes true like most do these dayz .....

i might not be able to deal with that in any rationally logical rational way ..:poof:

hum.....

My biggest worry is 90999-00099’s fate.

And then some of the other variants of the T100, first gen Tundra/Tacoma TR47 style. My guess is in the next 5-10 years they’ll consolidate the below:

In those you have 90999-00185, 90999-00186, 90999-00188 (sub key) 90999-00200 (sub key black top), 90999-00199, 90999-00248 (Scion logo), 90999-00251,90999-00224 (Hino black top) 90999-00223 (Hino Metal) and that doesn’t include the transponder versions. All of these keys are the same profile.

Got some of the last two 90999-00163 from Amayama. 3L12 tells me December 12, 2023. Sounds like they made them through the end of 2023.
