I can't wait to get this thing on. I got the 5 inch swap from all pro. I don't know what to do about the rear though. I don't know if i can make the 63" chevies work for the lift I want. I may end up doing the all pro rear as well but it is a lot of cash. Any ideas on springs that would be comparable to the front set up?

63" witha block
47" chevy with a block
USE A METAL BLOCK
below is a picture of a aluminum block that exploded on the Rubicon last year ona guys rig.

All Pro's 5" have a torque leaf installed which is a nive feature

I contacted alcan but their price would be the same as me buying a complete kit from all pro or marlin. Is the 63" chevy kit worth buying? I have seen them with the u bolt flip kit which is nice, but is it worth me not fabbing the spring hangers?

I haven't done the 63" chevy's but my nephew has them on his truck. There is no kit than I am aware of. You need to source the springs, block, front fixed shackle and rear shackle. As I understand it it is one of the most common lifts done on mini trucks. Teh one on my nephew's flex's well. Although right now he is researching taking the block out and going witha 3" spring up front and do more body triming to fit the 36" tall tires. TRying to lower the center of gravity a bit.

With that all said, All Pro makes good springs and you can get it in a complete kit with customer service. The mini truck I bought has a 4" all pro lift kit on it from the previous owner and he wheeled the snot out of it with out any issues. (this isn't a solid axle swap) though).

That looks really good. How big of a block does he have in the rear?

I'd have to measure them. They are around 2".
Check out the FAQ section at Pirate4x4.com under minni trucks. They have a lot of info on the swap listed there.

The springs do flex well. That rock he is going over in the picture he went right over it. My FJ40 got hung up, driver error and lack of clearance (always blame the rig).

One of the problems with used wrecking yard springs is they may be flat or have defects. Wrecking yards will swap them for you however.

Good Luck.

I have All Pro's 56" rears and they are a good spring but it took a long time to break them in. I Have a friend with Alcan's that flexed great right out of the box. I Looked in to the 63" Chevy springs as a cheap alternative but the front spring hanger had to be located so far down on the frame that I was afraid that they would get hung up on rocks when wheelin'.

I called alcan and they told me that they would build them for 200 each but that was stock length and I wasn't sure how good they would flex. I did start tearing apart the front end and all I have left is the upper a arm and torsion bar to remove. I will post up pictures tomorrow once I have the front axle under it.

I ran Alcan 4" lift +5" length fwd of axle (req'd relocating spring hangers, no biggie), and they were OK. Very little hop.
I am currently running Alcan 5" lift +9" length, required relocating the shackle hangers in addition to above, they flex like mad, very little hop like before.

My son runs the springs I used to run and they work decently for him.

Go long.

so the sas is installed. I will post pictures if anyone is interested. It is huge! It sits 1 inch lower than my buddies 85 with 37s and I am on 33s. We are using the same springs so I assume that it will settle. I got my 63" rears today as well so I am going to start the rear tomorrow.

I doubt you will be able to match the front lift (AP 5" is more like, say, 7"!!!) with Chebbies. One thing you will notice with blocks is axle hop. BAD axle hop.

The A-P rears flex well and will match the fronts. Relocating the front hanger is no big deal, A-P sells a front hanger as well.
