Hi Friends:
I am in the process of buying 2016 LC. Test drove it today and looked really nice and clean expect the leather on the steering wheel is in a bad shape. The seller says it was damaged with all the sanitization during COVID :). Anyhow, I am wondering what options are there to have the steering wheel repaired or will it require replacement? If replacement, then any idea how much it might cost to do so? Thank you in advance for your response.

I got a quote on a custom leather repair for mine and it was about $450. Ended up getting a decent leather steering wheel cover which is OK but you can’t feel the steering wheel heat much through it.

Lonky steering wheel cover from amazon is the discount DIY play. It is a nice and cost effective upgrade.

If everything works, I'd personally pay a shop to put a high quality leather cover. The leather on the factory wheel is pretty cheap, which is what leads to flaking. The sew over the top option looks decent, but I'd prefer the old one to be removed and the new one installed. I'm guessing the Lonky might be too big if you removed the old leather first.
