too bad some folks have had troubles with the Optimas; I've had two for two different rigs (one each) for a LONG time, one for nine years and it still starts easy! I also drained the one in my 60 when my fusible links fried and it is back to life with a jump and a short drive after the repairs- that said, there are certainly other options, I also had another rig years ago with a diehard- no probs there either... my .02

My Opitma yellow.....3 years an counting. Not a prob. $110

I now have an Oddessy and will likely get another one soon. Seems to be great although it's probably too soon to tell for sure.

I've never heard of a failed yellow or blue top - just redtops.

From what I know, the bluetop used to be the marine deep cycle battery, but now it seems they have a blue top deep cycle and a blue top starting battery, which seems to be the same as a red top. I think this is relatively new, so when people tallk about the blue top, they are probably referring to the deep cycle blue top.

hearing about your guys' opinions on optimas, i'm curious if there is another sealed, non-liquid filled option aside from them?

ProComp makes them too. Works great.

Just an FYI, pretty sure the Pro Comp batteries are just rebadged Exide Orbitals.
