Hey everyone. I've been scouring the internet for a reasonable deal on any kind of LC/LX/GX and stumbled upon this one that seems like it might be worth it. This would be my first, so I wanted to get some opinions from the experts. I can handle any maintenance, but I do not want to mess with frame problems. I'll include the details and pictures for you all to take a look at and tell me what you think.
Thanks

"Here is my 2004 Lexus GX 470 for sale! It has 160k miles

Around 10k miles ago, the water pump and timing belt were replaced.

The paint is in relatively good condition, but has some sun fade on the front left fender. Both bumpers have some scuffs from its life in parking lots getting groceries, but the paint and straight body still looks great. Underneath, the rust is minimal and has been undercoated for most/if not all it’s life.

I had it tinted when I got it, as well it comes with 4 OEM Lexus rims with Firestone tires. The air suspension was removed due to the air bags going out, and I have not had an issue with it since.

There are a couple cons. It does not have a third row, it just never came with one. There is a check engine light for engine code P0340: Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold Bank 2. This light came on when it started to sit for a couple days at a time, but runs perfectly fine. Lastly, the passenger side valve cover near the firewall has a seep, but hasn't been an issue.

I am solely selling this car due to my work giving me a vehicle. It has a long carfax history. I am simply selling it because I now have a work vehicle and this is just going to be sitting around. It is an amazing highway cruiser and hasn’t ever left me stranded!"

The oxidation doesn't match, rear part of the frame looks suspiciously new. Check out the corrosion around the front bump stop in Pic. Something not adding up.

It could be okay, it's worth going to look at IMO. That's a lot of seat wear for 160k miles, maybe not if the owner is a big person.

I'm suspect of this picture tho, I would give it a good poke there to see that it isn't rot:

What's the price? Where is it from? Seen the carfax, does it make sense?

These are basically my initial thoughts as well. It is in Indianapolis and listed at 8500. Haven't seen the Carfax yet.

Yeah... rust belt vehicle I dunno. Maybe some areas got better attention for undercoat over the years? I would be concerned some of that rust is inside out instead of surface.
