Hey guys, I need some feedback on people who have towed with a 60, I am looking to pull 5x8 uhaul trailer from Durango, CO to Salt Lake City, UT. There is a couple "hills" that are going to be a slow struggle, the one coming out of Durango Wild Cat Canyon and Solder summit near Bryce. But I will be towing in the flats near Moab and Green River where it will be rising up to 100.. (I am leaving early to beat the heat.)

My 2F is desmogged, and running strong. Just replaced my brakes. The suspension is leaking oil.. so blown..

I am not going to be loading this trailer to the top, just a bed and a desk.

Any ideas or opinions help!

Thanks guys,

Tucker

Don't worry about it, but expect to go slow. Watch your temp when climbing hills. I have pulled a 7000 lb camper trailer home with my 84 when my father in laws F250 broke down. I made no speed records but I did make it to the top of the grades. Trailer loading is 80% of towing.

Yeah this wont be my fastest trip, but then again its a fast tractor not a race car

I towed a drive train out of an FJ60 wrecker in a 5x8 open uhual trailer. Not as far as your going but it was fine. Try to get a trailer with a surge brake, even if he trailer is a little bigger.

Yup. Low 'n slow with as much weight inside the cruiser, as possible.

@Rockymtnreaper - you've prolly answered this elsewhere, but what Roof Top Tent brand / model is that ?

Thanks.

Safe trip.

No problem. I used to tow my race car with the 60, not really recommended but it was a short tow in light traffic.
Just watch you braking distances, not sure if that size trailer will have brakes or not.

450 miles the 2F ran flawlessly. Didn't do too bad on the hills and was noticeable on the flats but still did the speed limit. Still, wouldn't recommend doing it unless you have to. But you can if you need to just be smart and know your motors limits and also keep distance for breaking.
