4x4 shops are non-existent in WY, Denver 6 hours away would be closest. These look relatively easy (in comparison) to install?

Probably a similar amount of cutting, just further south and less worry about relocating signals and fogs. However, that will do jack and s*** against a deer or elk. Likely just help to upend it through your windshield. I really think ARB or Ironman are your only options if you're worried about striking wildlife.

Agreed, that victory wont do a damn thing if you hit wildlife.

I hit two deer this year. Not a scratch on the bumper but one of them did break the ARB foglight.

Even with ARB I’d still be afraid to hit an elk at more than about 25 MPH. Those are much bigger and more top-heavy than deer.

OK I get it...So, what can I do to mitigate damage from striking an animal in the road? We have on average 6000 animal strikes a year in Wyoming (I all but totaled a Camry some years ago)

Pffft.. Rookies. Pa. has more than 150,000 animal strikes a year that are claimed on insurance. And 6000 of them are deer (whitetail). The most in the Nation.

That thing will do absolutely nothing for an animal strike unless it is a fox or yote. Even with hoops on it an elk or moose odds are you are just going to take out its legs and the body will come through the windshield in your lap. Next time you stop for a herd of elk to cross notice that your headlights are under the body. And moose even more so, and they are black and really hard to see. Last month I had to stop for moose twice, one a week. Almost didn't see the cow at O'dark thirty until she was on the road but had slowed down to 40 mph going through that stretch with bogs on either side knowing there was a good chance they were moving before sunrise.

Here is a Prado 150 at a dealer with a Go Rhino bumper installed and color matching paint (not available in the US) much like the Victory you posted

And after meeting a cow on the road

Even with a center hoop and light hoops not sure it would helped that much. Mulies or speed goats it may or may not work, how fast you are going would have a bearing on the amount of damage. As would center mass strike, glancing blow, etc.

ARB, Ironman and Expo One are the 3 that come to mind that have hoops. And are going to push you up to close to 200 pounds hanging off your front end, it is going to handle like s*** without a suspension modification. Don't forget to add that into your cost.

Aftermarket bumpers like bull bars are outlawed in most of Europe and the Middle East. Because they cause more damage or death to the other vehicle occupants, pedestrians and bike riders when they impact. Something to think about at least I do.

Right. I lived in SWPA all my life until three years ago. Dodging deer was just daily driving, especially during boom stick season. Hills and tight winding roads with blind curves on every turn didn't help.

PA has a population of 13,000,000 people WY have less than 584,000 I think we still win

Bred, born and raised a ridge running woodchuck in North Central. Where many come to their hunting shacks. Actually Twin Tiers of NY/Pa. like most in that area. Haven't lived there since the mid 80's when I was back "home" on recruiting duty for 3 years. 20 years ago did take my youngest son back for youth deer season and he shot his first Pa. deer a couple hundred yards from where I shot my first deer

All 3 of my sisters have totalled cars I am the only one that hasn't. So many close calls though some close enough to pick deer hair out of the vehicle. I'm not counting the deer that ran into the side of my government vehicle one morning, it fell down and the truck behind me hit it not me.

WY is 15th 1 in 88 people. Pa. is 4th with 1 in 61 people. West by Gawd Va. leads the pack at #1 with 1 in 40. It is a race I don't want to be in no matter the odds but it is what it is. State Farm stats

Looked up a video that I seen in the past and feel it is worth watching. John Cadogan in Australia, well OK truth be told I just like hearing an Aussie say see you on the road to Dingo Pi$$ creek. The study he is referring to is by BHP an Australian mining and metals company that has a lot of vehicles in remote areas. They found that bull bars cause more foot wall intrusion and displacement of the pedals. More load transmitted into interior of vehicle. And damage to your feet and legs. He also mentions the damage that they do to other vehicles and soft tissue that OEM bumpers do not.

Not to mention.... Insurance claim stats are not accurate as to how many people actually hit wildlife... especially in WY. Most of the people with in-state tags are driving big diesel trucks with bull bars. NOT the type of vehicles that get damaged by a little deer here and there.

Hell, I've hit three deer in WY in the last decade, all with an ARB bar on an F250. I don't even live there.

All those numbers tell me is that PA has a higher percentage of people driving fragile, unprotected vehicles.

Insurance stats aside, PA just has way more people and WAY more roads, including many interstate highways that are key shipping routes and account for tons of trucking and passenger volume. It doesn't take long driving down I80, I70, I79, or I76 before you see a giant red stain on the road from a semi pulverizing a deer.

I lived in PA for 37 years. I can attest that in the winter months in SW PA, there is a deer carcass on the side of the road every few miles. I've seen them rip holes in the front of semis, in windshields of 3500 pickups because they were jumping when they struck. It's not just Carmrys that take damage.
