This is a simple question that has stumped me. Help!
Changing the oil and filter and accidently pulled this one out.
I think it is the oil pressure sending unit wire but don't see where it goes. See photos

For not knowing where it goes, you took an excellent pic of the location. Your 2nd pic, coppery "knob" pointing approx 45 degr. down and to the right from the sending unit.
 
second pic, it slides over the "top hat" on the oil pressure sender.

Damn, crushr beat me to it.
 
If I had to venture a guess based on you pictures, the connector in the first picture slides upon the sensor in the second picture. It looks like a oil pressure sending unit, but I can't be sure because I don't see both items in the same picture. Clean them both up and give it a whirl. There should be some sort of tab or detent on the connector to keep it from just falling off the sensor. Good luck and be sure to let us know how you made out.
