Can we rent a generator from Home Depot, Lowes, etc.? I wouldn't think it would be extremely expensive. Worst case, I also have an inverter I can bring (maybe 1000W?) and a spare battery to hook it to.

Sorry on the late response Jerry. It's a no go on the Genny I thought I could get.
I think it is around $45 a day for a small generator at the depot but it might have gone up since I worked there.

I've honestly been too busy to even look around. No worries Al, we've all got a life to take care of once in a while.

I'm confident we can cover the load with the inverters and rigs, as long as we've got gas and a set of jumper cables laying around...

Change of time for those leaving from the RDU area. We're meeting at the Mobil Lake Mart at 6:15am, fed and ready to go. We will roll out promptly at 6:30am.

Well I have borrowed a generator. It is 5500W and 22amp, so it should do the job. The only issue is it's loud. The muffler is about the size of a tin can. We will need to set it away from the booths because of noise.

Does anyone have one or two heavy duty extension cords? I have extension cords, but they are the typical yard type. I will go check Lowes and Depot tonight to see what they have for higher rated cords. Worst case, I'll bring two of my cords.

I'll bring what I have. Since we won't be drawing more than 1 amp with the projector and laptop combined, we won't need anything too heavy...

Jerry, I'll also try to bring a couple of power strips, but if you have one handy, please bring it. Unless you don't have space, you might as well bring the TV. I'd be concerned that the projector might not be bright enough outside. Do you have a screen? I have one that can be hung from the EZ-up if needed.

Can do.

The screen plan was to use some poster board but it might be good to have a backup plan...

To all, this is a good opportunity for the club to get sponsorships from many of the local companies so keep that in mind when perusing throughout the event.

Alright guys...last minute change of plans for me.

My Dad has gone up to NYC last minute, and won't let me take the 40 on the maiden voyage alone since the engine has just been rebuilt. Too many potential problems and I can't say I disagree with him. Yet another bust.

Wish I had a tow rig...

I think Garrett and i will venture down that way also. But, We wont be leaving the house till around 7:00, so we should be cruising past the mobil mart around 7:30. I have a long entension cord if you need another one.

Eric, it wouldn't hurt to bring the cord, just in case. I forgot that one of mine has been spliced after being cut by a yard tool.

Dang, thats too bad, I wanted to see it first hand...

Great, I'm sure Garrett will have fun seeing all the different rigs...

You are right that it can't hurt to have a few but I'm sure I've got it covered. I've got a 50', 10' and a handful of "household" extension cords. Please still bring the inverter, just in case and I'll be bringing mine also.

I'm bringing both the TV and projector. I'm also bringing a portable DVD so if anyone has any off-road DVD's, bring them also. That way, if Jon (TLCA) wants to have a dedicated TV, he can have one and hopefully, the projector will be able to put on a show also...

I have the potential new logos for the 2010 Tide Ride, with a nice little "Your logo here" space! We can do a little whoring ourselves out for sponsors tomorrow! Brochures, the new calendar, old maps from rides, etc.

I can drive the 40 out if we'd like to have another, but as everyone knows it's not a show truck....

Well I sure hope they aren't thinking the 55 is a show truck...all it has is a few goody's no one can see.
