Thanks man! I like seeing more threads on here where people build stuff from scratch. Thats half the fun with these trucks, building them up!

Yeah, i usually build link suspensions, this detailed metal work is a little new for me. Tube bumpers are cake compared to plate! I can throw out links to my builds if anyone is interested? Ive built a truck every year since 1999... This is my first cruiser. I might do a fj40 next? The last two were tacomas, no rust, no oil or dirt to clean up... The canvas was spotless...

recovery points and winch area reinforcement is next...were takin a lunch break...

Very nice, like the style, flows well with the body and gives a tough look to the rig, I don't think you'll be teased at work anymore. Few things I pondered while reading this thread....

Was this a "build as you go" operation, or was it CAD'd/designed in it's totality from scratch?

If it was designed in it's totality from scratch, does the program your friend uses calculate the different pieces/cuts to make the unit as a whole, or was that you guys pulling numbers off the other parts and telling the machine what to cut?

Could your friend offer it as a kit, so I could weld the parts myself, but save on shipping and manufacturing costs? IDK, I just like stuff in a kit, makes me feel like I did something besides enter credit card info.

Besides that, can't wait to see it done and finished....

x2 on a kit form if possible :)

Would love to crank out the welder on a job like this! Have made my own rear bar and it took me ages (try close to 6months) working on it a couple hours every weekend.

Kit form would cut this down to about a month.

I emailed Jeremy and asked the same thing to save on shipping and he said it has to be welded in a jig or else it will warp.

Kit form isnt gonna happen, first three are built on my truck after that its jigged. We just got a pg&e type job that required our welder to file his AWS certs with the county. U want it welded here! He is that good and certified.

Got any pics of the welds up close? Is it all MIG welded? I just asked for it in a kit to help with shipping all the way over here.

Theres a few a couple posts up? Im usin an i phone so i zoom in, maybe there not big on a regular monitor? Let me know....

Lol dunno how I missed your post with the pics....looks good!

yeah, he builds hospitals and schools for a big structuralstel company, his welds are tested by fema/aws inspection officials with an ultrasonic machine and magnafluxed all day...no worries...

bumpers done, waiting for a fairlead and paint to dry...pics in a bit...im loving it! really transformed my truck from soccer mom station wagon grocery getter:D

Very Nice. How did the bracing for the winch mount turn out?

I can't wait to see how the sliders turn out.

Paul(Booger Weldz) mentioned this site has a membership fee but I am not the most internet savvy person. I will gladly became a member of this site if need be. Moderators please direct me and hopefully I am not out of line giving the lowdown on these bumpers.

I am awaiting a shipment of plate to build a couple of these for stock. This bumper came out great but there will be a few unnoticable changes I am going to make that will ease in production. I feel we got quite a buzz about this and I am offering it as our first advertised product. I know we received questions from quite a few people about a DIY kit but it isnt going to happen these bumpers simply need to be built in a fixture to be true. That being said this piece will be offered at an introductory price of $850.00. Thats the bumper in raw steel with clevis mounts and the fairlead mount. Give us a call 209-402-6433, pm me or email our salesguy Jeremy@binksfab.com if you have any questions. We are here to serve you and hope to have many of you guys as satisfied customers!
