Hey folks. I have one last request for UNF .

There is a Trail Strategy meeting coming up here this next month we need to have a good showing for please.

It is December 11th at 6pm till 8pm.

It is at :
Garner center
210 Burnette Street
Troy, NC. 27371

What will be discussed is the following.

First it will be discussing what happened at the last meeting and then from there we will break down to the different user groups and will be talking about the nuts and bolts of the trail system. Discussions will cover what the UNF can realistically provide and sustain for the long term use of the public lands.

Please consider showing up and being heard. You have a chance now to be heard. Ball is in your court.............. What are you going to do with it ?

Crap .... I would do that, but I have my Board of Directors in that night and the next day. Unfortunately, I may have a heck of a lot of time on my hands after they leave .... :(

I'll try but the earliest I could get there as of now is 745 due to.getting off of work at 6

It is extremely unlikely that I will be able to make 6pm in Troy on a workday.

I'll be there, maybe with the family, maybe without. I've got some vacation to use up this year, and my exams will be over by the 11th.

I will try to move my work schedule but can not promise anything

I understand the whole during the week thing. This is not for me but for you to be able to see the goal / future of the UNF. I just put the info out there. What you choose to do with that info is up to you. It is not going to break my heart either way. It does upset me being in this position and seeing what really goes on and the lack of interest but hey. That is life and this last 2 years has been an eye opener. Trying to encourage folks to get involved is about the hardest thing I have done since retirement. My time is almost up and I will continue to do what I do but I will only have to motivate myself and not try to motivate others. All is good and it has been an eye opener.

Happy Holidays all.

Unfortunately I can't attend, but just donate some money on the website. Hope it helps in a small way, will stay connected to any other upcoming workdays after the 6th.

Thanks for coming Eric. And for stepping up and being a part of the committee. Look forward to working alongside you on this. Now you have a better idea of why I have been asking for so much help putting up this guard rail and why it is so important.

WE definitely have some work to do but, in both planning and maintenance. The overall feeling i got was that if we remain proactive here, then we can ensure that the trail system will remain open for our children and there children.

That is why for the longest time I have been saying it is not for me and you anymore but for everyone's kids. It is about what is sustainable for the next generation and at our rate right now it is not. Everyone is just worried about them out there for the most part you encounter out there not in any club. People need to wake up and see the bigger picture. Maybe once we get more clubs / folks involved they can see the bigger picture.

Darin, it was good seeing you at the meeting. I worked with the mtn bike folks since the ORV group was large. I still think the horse group was the largest! I thought our discussion went well, but tough when it starts with, whatever you suggest may not happen for years, we have no money.... how did the ORV discussion go?

It went very well. Then we topped it off last night with the rendezvous. We talked a lot about issues we have and the biggest thing it came back to almost every time. Education. So, we as a user group are going to try and get some help in getting more people into the Tread Lightly attitude.

Need to know if we have any folks that would be willing to go out on the trails a few times this year and talk to folks on the trails about tread lightly ? It can be different folks each time and you do not need to be a Trainer but just have the ability to talk to folks about doing the right thing out there on the trails.
