On-Truck Solar Panel Charging Parked INSIDE the Garage?

I work in the wind energy industry and in a similar fashion I've actually heard the comment "what if you built a large fan to blow wind at a wind turbine??" :bang: My reply is sure, how much power do you think a fan would require to turn a 2MW wind turbine?
But, what if that fan is solar powered?

With a giant bank of lights shining on the panels at night?

:hhmm:

That would never work.

We need to burn an immense amount of coal to run the intensive lighting array needed to energize a solar powered pump, that would move water up to turn a water wheel, which is attached through gearing to a large fan, which could in turn blow air at a wind generator, which could maybe then be used to trickle charge a cell phone.

This could all be simply solved by installing a Mr. Fusion and a couple of banana peels:

Are they Japanese gears, or Chinese gears?

Nobody has experience doing this because it is a terribly impractical, inefficient idea.
It's your money to waste though, so go nuts and tell everyone how it worked...
Absolutely! Nor would you be the first to embark upon such a course.

HOW-TO: World's Most Expensive Jumper Cables

I for one find this thread both informative and entertaining.

Maybe he should put a windmill (okay, wind TURBINE) on the roof. Or beside the garage. Seriously. If zoning allows and there's a good wind, that may generate more power than the lights...

Eh, don't give up because of flak. It's an interesting project--practical or otherwise. Sometimes the latter are more fun.
